Question for the Californians re Tax-Exempt Investments

Hello Californians - For those of you with tax-exempt investments, which do you recommend? Any you don't like?

I will be moving to your fair state in a few months, and while I am very much looking forward to living there, I am not looking forward to your state income tax! Thus, my interest in tax-exempt investments.
