I appreciate all the info guys. The real basis for this is, though my wife will be 60 and retiring, I'll just be 58 and plan on continuing my private consultant engineering practise for 2 or 3 years or until I get tired of it. The whole point is that I wanted to leave this nest egg alone (untaxed and growing) for a couple of more years after she retires and now I see that I can.
