Re: Describe the oldest piece of clothing you own
That I dont wear: A tank top with two little goldfish on them. Its got sentimental value...have had it for around 7 years now...back when a $10 tank top was expensive to me!
That I still wear: Brown sandals with little shells on them. Theyre adorable and look good with jeans. I bought them from Target for $12 about 4 years ago and I still rock them

Re: Describe the oldest piece of clothing you own
if it still counts i have my bronzed baby shoes and i'm 24 =)....
sadly and happily, have been the same size (and midgety height) for a long time and as long as the clothes last i still wear them... one of the oldest (i don't know which is the oldest) is the dress i wore to band banquet my freshman year 10 years ago... out of everyday clothes i know i definately still have stuff left from high school 6-10 years ago but that's only a few favorites... i'm always getting new stuff from yard sales so i try to purge my closet every year...

Re: Describe the oldest piece of clothing you own
I have two candidates to offer, both from the same period.
One is a leather jacket bought in 1984. It's been relined once and had the pocket inserts replaced as well.
The other is a pair of Johnston-Murphy shell cordovan dress shoes I bought on sale in 1986. The soles have been replaced twice. No idea how many times I've had the heels redone.
The jacket's getting a bit snug these days, but the shoes still fit perfectly.

I have a soccer shirt from 4th grade, from the summer league I played in. It was big on me then, and it's still big on me now, 14 years later. Surprisingly in one piece still. I had another one from the summer between 2nd & 3rd grade - but it was a different brand Tshirt and wore out quicker. That tells you how big the shirts were then!

Re: Describe the oldest piece of clothing you own
I have a 12 year old coat (bought when I was 18) that I live in fear is finally going to die on me. I can't find one that fits better or I think has better style. But I have a feeling getting it remade would be very expensive so I just hold onto it and hope for the best. It made it through last winter, and I think it has another winter in it.
I actually have a lot of clothes that are from at least 5-6 years ago. I tend to look ridiculous in trendy clothes so most of my clothes are fairly classic, and if they hold up they still work style-wise. I think that is why I have not had good luck buying from less expensive stores - I found something cute at Target but it only lasted 6 months.

I have my brothers baptism outfit, my son wore it, and my newest son was supposed to but we were not on the ball and he still hasn't been dedicated, and it doesn't fit... (bro is err 30?)
I do have several sentimental things that all three kids wore, but not to much, they get new stuff for all holidays from family. (my oldest is only 4)
I also have several coats (one light one winter) and some things from highschool, witch I am sorry to say was quite awhile ago! Actually we still have DHs denim from highschool, so that would be older. (DHs coat would be 15ish?)
But the oldest would be my mothers doll (large doll, my DDs size) her origional dress and stockings and shoes are around here somewhere. (she is currently wearing a nice pink onsie of DDs and some shorts oh and Dss first shoes.) (heh, not sure mom wants the world to know but I would guestimate the doll at 45 or so))
