Got on an elevator at work today and saw someone dropped their smart phone. Took it to the front receptionist. Hopefully the person who lost it thought to go to them.

It isn't that we do it for the gratitude, but it is off-putting when you don't get a "thank you."

Another thing I have noticed people in Hawaii do is let's say you're in a store and an elderly person is on an electric scooter and wants to get through. People will allow the elderly person on the scooter to get through and go ahead of them especially other elderly people (they can relate more I guess). I admit that I'm guilty and I've tried to walk faster than the elderly person on the scooter to try to get ahead of them. Not everyone will display this gesture of niceness but you would have to see it in real life to fully grasp the magnitude of this behavior. I encourage others to try this and allow the elderly person on the scooter to get past you instead of you walking in front of them. It'll take a lot of patience on your part but it is well worth the reward of being patient. Someday you or I might be that person in the scooter.
As much as I hate where I live, this is considered common courtesy in Chicago. At least at the hockey games, all of the Chicago-grown or former Blackhawks are acknowledged before a game, which range from polite clapping to a standing ovation, depending on who it is. I fear my parents will kick my ass if they ever saw me race past an elderly person like that, and I am in my 40's. My daughter is raised the same way.

Made my neighbors day this morning when I offered one of the three loaves of banana bread to her. She ate some for breakfast after our walk. While walking we discovered that I have a Battleship game I want to get rid of and she needs one for her son because he's missing pieces in his. Win for both of us!My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

I use to live in a area from where the nearest bus stop is 3 kms far . back then I use to ride my sister two wheeler . there use to be many pedestrians walking under scorching heat to catch nearest bus . As many times as possible I use to offer them ride to any spot that falls on my way .
Why I do that ?
when I was not having any vehicle I use to walk 3 kms from bus stop to my home and definitely to walk after a hectic day was quits tiresome .
So, from than on whenever I ride with my back seat vacant . I try to help people around .A small gesture surely won't do any wrong to you . but it will surely be a stroke of luck for the poor walker under not so comfortable circumstances.

I had a plumber at our rental house today. The bill was paid by the landlord. I discovered while talking to him that he lost his apartment during Hurricane Matthew and was living with his sister. As he finished his work, I felt compelled to give him a gift card that I earned through credit card rewards. The gift card was $50 to Chili's. He was so surprised, but gladly accepting! He plans to have his sister watch his kids and take his girlfriend to dinner. My other blog is Your Organized Friend.
