  • Healthcare reform: Town hall meeting

I just read the transcript for "a Tele-Town Hall on Health Insurance Reform at the AARP". I like it that this president makes it a point to answer people questions while keeping political speak to a minimum. I work in the healthcare field and have done well for myself. I like many of my collegues, are nervous about what this reform may mean to us on an individual basis as well as society as a whole.

That said my wife an I fell victim to the insurance tricks the president spoke about. My wife was approved for a sugical procedure last year months before the surgery, she had the surgery, only then did the insurance company tell us they were not going to cover it because they don't find the studies done the procedure acceptatble. What does that even mean? So they approved a procedure that don't cover?

Anyway after reading this transcript I feel much more better about the healthcare reform that is currently being legislated. I know there is a lot of negativity out there about the proposed changes, but I really can't see were any of the things being suggested are going to hurt the american people. Perhaps I am missing so additional key information, but why wouldn't every american be onboard with this?
