We can start anytime from 6:30 to 9:30 and end from 3:00-6:00....so long as you get your 8.5 hours in (30 min for lunch). I like 7:30 to 4:00, but we also have to average 10 hours per week of overtime, but that can be done anywhere (including home) and on weekends, and includes up to three hourse of fitness training.

Our state counterparts have great schedules; Monday-Thursday 7-5 pm with every Friday off.

I work from home and start at 7am (fall out of bed and switch on computer) and finish at about 5.30pm with three half hour breaks - breakfast at around 9.30am, lunch at 1 and tea and biscuits at 3.30pm -very civilised...

When I occasionally have to get the train into town - it's a real shock and I wonder how I used to commute every day without going nuts!!

I work 12 hr shifts, but my days are 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off...basically I work 14-15 days a month, and have the rest off. On the short weeks, when I only work 2 on, I can take 2 vacation days, and actually have 7 days off in a row, and with 10 vacation days a year, that's like having 5 weeks of paid vacation! Gives me a lot of time to do what I want on the side.

I love my work shift and have done it for years, 2:30 to 11 p.m., and I work at home. I love having my daytime hours, no rat race crowds to fight. I'm up at 7 or so and can sit with my coffee or sleep in (am helping babysit 2 grandnephews during the day most days of the week now but it won't be forever - I miss my morning long walks right now). This schedule is not popular which has always guaranteed me plenty of work at my job, which is also nice (medical transcription). I also work every Friday and Saturday night, definitely not something most folks would do, but I can't say I miss the singles scene out there anyway - you get together with folks for lunch (cheaper), works out fine. I'd never ever want to return to working days.

Although I've never actually worked an 11pm-7am shift, I imagine that's the shift I would like the most. You don't really have to deal with people and gossip, and it would probably give me tons of study time.

I currently usually work about 9-4 (usually skip going out to lunch so I leave at 4 instead of 5) Monday through Friday, but being that I'm trying to make extra $$$ I work at home in the evening when I feel like it too, which isn't bad (all snuggled up in my jammies proofreading instead of having to look presentable for the office!) I think my ideal work schedule would be what someone mentioned as the 3 days a week 12 hr shifts... Sunday, Monday and Tuesday would be perfect, rest of the week off!

It would be nice to have a weekday off every week, seems like it's less busy and easier to get stuff done than Saturdays when everyone is out!

I like to sleep in but I love the 7-3pm shift. Right now I work 3-11 on the weekend and I hate it. It takes so much for me to get up and go, but once I am there I am ok

3 days a week, but 12hr shifts. My shift can starts at 7am to 7pm OR 7pm to 7am including weekends/holidays. So its either 3 days or 3 nights Straight. I like it a lot with 4 days off a week it gives me a good balance between life and work.

Any schedule that would work around my dh's schedule so we can avoid day care costs but also allow me to call in if dh can get o/t cause frankly he can make 75% of what I could make in a week full time (when I was working) in one day of o/t. I just need to get out of the flipp'n house!

I would love to work 2-10 if I didn't have little kids. now it's more like 8:30 to 5 with half hour lunch if I'm lucky because I have to drop them off and then drive 20 minutes. Oh I wish I could work at home!

I'm more of an evening working. My typical work day starts at around 10am, but often won't end until midnite. With breaks to eat, run, and maybe watch a dvd as a break.

But I'm single and not dating and broke. But I do like being able to set my own schedule. It might be good for me to get up earlier each day, I've always wanted to do it, just never been able too.

I usually work 7-6. I'd rather get off earlier than 6, but I'm not a morning person and there is NO way I can get in before 7. Theoretically, I have flex hours too, but when you are working 50 hours a week, there really isn't much room to flex. Oh well, at least I get paid for OT!

I really love my current hours: 10a-6p, with two hours off for lunch. (paid!)

The ad sales guys are very old school and take two hour lunches so things kinda shut down between 1230p-230p. Since it's holiday season the two hours can stretch into 2.5-3 hours.

I work in midtown NYC, a few blocks for Rock Center, so the pedestrian traffic is unreal. It takes forever to walk anywhere. God bless those tourists who stroll like they are in a "shopping centre". lol...

i am not a morning person, but i prefer working as early as possible so i can have evenings for myself! my preferred shift (which i had for 3 years) is 7 am to 4 pm Mon thru Fri. No evening or weekend work for me, although i've dealt with it in the past.

My husband used to have flex time..it was awesome, you need a vacation he worked 40 (or more) in the first three days of the week, then we took off, and he worked 40 the last three of the next week. It rocked.

He now has semi flex...he can take off if he 'needs' to but if he abuses it he would suffer. His normal schedule is 6:30 (from home) to umm, I really don't know, if he needs to be home early he is here around 3:30, but if not he works later..but he works at the office after 8ish.

ETA: oh yeah, I don't care so long as you don't pester me within an hour of waking up, and you leave me alone for an hour later on in the day....I don't get paid though.
