    What's your favorite work schedule?

When I was working, I wanted a shift that would allow me to get in early and get out early. The best schedule that I ever had was 5am--1:45pm. This left a lot of time to take care of things that couln't readily be done after office hours.

On the other hand some people like sleep in and don't mind starting work at a later time. What is your preference?

I want a flexible schedule. The best schedule I had was at my last job...basically, put in 80 hours in a two week pay period, make your meetings and get your work done.

We have flex hours, so you can start as early as 5:30 and work 9.5 hrs and be out at 3pm at the earliest. You have to work 9.5 hrs, because 1 hr is for lunch and the extra 30 mins is for the 19/30 schedule. If you work an extra 30 mins a day that one day a month you can off, any day you choose.

I like my schedule too. 40 hours a week. Doesn't matter when. Prefers we're in most business hours. But if I want to work 5-2 every day, I could. Or 11-7. Or 6 hours a day and 10 hours on the weekend. Doesn't matter. I like working less hours during the week and popping by the office for say 3-5 hours saturday morning. I much prefer that to cramming in too many hours in one day. Just more my speed.

6-3 would probably by my ideal schedule. I am an early bird. I don't swing it so much with my office being in a bad area (not wanting to be first in the morning) and with the babies' sleep schedules. But probably what I will lean towards once they start school. I am always up at 5 anyway, and most productive in the morning.

P.S. I think that's why I like working saturdays. No interruptions!!

This may be odd, but I prefer night shift if I had a preference! Working in the medical field I have had the opportunity to work all shifts and I prefer nights! I've always been a night owl anyways, I don't do mornings very well, LOL!

I work from 6am-2pm every day. I like it because I am off when the kids get home from school and I have chill time before I have to run around making dinner and cleaning up.

20 hr/wk, 1-5 M-F, from home. It's great not having to rush to get ready in the morning, and being free to take morning toddler classes (music, gymventures, etc). It's going to be hard to adjust when he starts preschool, because all the part-time programs start at 8:30 or 9 -- the morning is the most enjoyable time with little kids, no wonder the schools want to have it!

I"m so not a morning person, but I like the opening shift (7:30-4:30) because I can actually get stuff done.

Lately I've been doing 12 hour shifts but I'm exhausted and burned out.

Flexible schedules are great. The closest that I ever had to one was from a boss who didn't care what 8 hour period that you worked you had to stick to the shift that you selected.

My husband used to have flex time..it was awesome, you need a vacation he worked 40 (or more) in the first three days of the week, then we took off, and he worked 40 the last three of the next week. It rocked.

He now has semi flex...he can take off if he 'needs' to but if he abuses it he would suffer. His normal schedule is 6:30 (from home) to umm, I really don't know, if he needs to be home early he is here around 3:30, but if not he works later..but he works at the office after 8ish.

ETA: oh yeah, I don't care so long as you don't pester me within an hour of waking up, and you leave me alone for an hour later on in the day....I don't get paid though.

i am not a morning person, but i prefer working as early as possible so i can have evenings for myself! my preferred shift (which i had for 3 years) is 7 am to 4 pm Mon thru Fri. No evening or weekend work for me, although i've dealt with it in the past.

I really love my current hours: 10a-6p, with two hours off for lunch. (paid!)

The ad sales guys are very old school and take two hour lunches so things kinda shut down between 1230p-230p. Since it's holiday season the two hours can stretch into 2.5-3 hours.

I work in midtown NYC, a few blocks for Rock Center, so the pedestrian traffic is unreal. It takes forever to walk anywhere. God bless those tourists who stroll like they are in a "shopping centre". lol...

I usually work 7-6. I'd rather get off earlier than 6, but I'm not a morning person and there is NO way I can get in before 7. Theoretically, I have flex hours too, but when you are working 50 hours a week, there really isn't much room to flex. Oh well, at least I get paid for OT!
