Something I've always wondered about monitored home alarm systems: When I cut your phone line outside your house, does it work?

unlimited with At&T was killing me with 130 a month. So recently opted for VOIP with phonepower. Signed up for 1 yr plan for 150. I have been using this phone for 2 months and so far good.

VOIP doesn't work with a monitored home alarm system so I cannot get it.
There are several alarm system providers that now support VOIP. In Florida most affiliate with T-Mobile, not Vonage, I don't know why.

            T-mobile has a 9.99/mo, all features included.

I can not do it because my alarm company is included on my HOA and they do not support VOIP, yet. Coming soon.

Sorry I don't recall where did I get the list of providers that support Voip.
But I'd say, call your current provider and ask.
If they don't support VOIP and you can change, shop around.

            Blessings!

Yes I do. As a matter of fact, 90 percent of my calls are from my Onesuite .com VoIP service. I already ditched my landline a couple of years ago and I'ms aving about $20 a month because of that.

I got a T-mobile prepaid for my 911 or emergency calls like if I'm out of the house or on a trip. Again I'm saving another $20 versus getting a mobile plan.

ViaTalk is the VoIP we use. Excellent quality.

I actually use The Real PBX for all my business communications. All it's services are reliable and awesome.

I use Vonage. I was paying for the 500 plan, but because I so rarely use that I went down to the pay as you go option. Now I just pay around 7$ a month plus any minutes I use. Most months that is 0. I have it in case cell phones don't work.

As long as you have a 3mb connection or higher you are good. I had this back when I only could get 1.5mb DSL, and it would drop like a bad cell phone signal if you were using the internet for any reason. I would have to tell my kids to turn Netflix off if I needed to use the land line. lol
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.
