i would if i could, but we live in a rental house that doesn't have a dishwasher, and i'm not shelling out hundreds of dollars for a portable dishwasher when i have more important things to worry about.

These are my thoughts as well.... My dishwasher doesn't work that great (if there's any food bits on anything, i'll find them in tiny pieces on everything else in there), but even when i have to scrub them before loading the dishwasher, I satisfy myself that they're closer to clean using the dishwasher. I'm a little bit OCD, and the idea of eating off of plates that aren't actually clean disgusts me....


Since I mentioned it, a little OCD joke: "I prefer to think of myself as CDO. It's alot like OCD, except in alphabetical order............like it should be."

I am sorry I didn't mean anyone should buy a dishwasher. I am talking about if you have a dishwasher and think you can save by not using it.
I read a post once about a man who would not allow his wife to use the dishwasher as it wasted to much water, electricity etc.

lol, try it for a lifetime, i have always washed dish by hands, and when i lived in an apt that had one for 2 yrs, i never used it once.

We owned our house for over 5 years now. The last time we used our dishwasher was two years ago during the Thanksgiving. We usually just clean our dishes by hand which requires less water usage/lower utility bill.
