    Congrats,

    Credit card debt is poisonous.
I struggle in the direction of in no way carry a balance.
I only utilize it for chief purchases and pay it off at once.
I slightly do without impressive than have to carry a cc balance.
For some, though, emergencies do happen and a cc has to be used.
    That is clear.

I do have a question though. I cut my cards up a long time ago, but wouldn't it be helpful to my FICO score if I have one mailed to me and use it for only gas every month? I am able and disciplined enough now to pay the balance every month.
Congrats! That's great. It's important to keep credit accounts open for long periods of time to establish at least a 2-3 year history.

Great work though. I bet many people on here wish they were in your shoes.

The way to a high FICO is to have several cards with high limits and very low or no balances.

Even though you've paid them off (congratulations!) you probably hurt your score by closing accounts.

Credit cards are for paying for things with money you already have - keep that in mind and you'll be fine.

    Credit Card Debt

    Congrats,

Credit card debt is toxic. I try to never carry a balance. I only use it for major purchases and pay it off at once. I rather do without something than have to carry a cc balance. For some, however, emergencies do occur and a cc has to be used. That is understandable.

Good job! I did the same thing just a few days ago myself. It's a great feeling, isn't it?
