  • Yonanas

We received a $50 Amazon gift card for Christmas and after much arguing and deliberation decided to buy a Yonanas machine. Basically you take overripe fruit, freeze it, and then feed the frozen fruit through the machine and it turns it into a soft sorbet with a nice gelato like texture. You don't have to add any sweeteners. I'm not normally a big fan of one use appliances, but this thing does exactly what it says it does, and very well. We made some last night with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, and it was really good. I'm not big on smoothies so it's nice to have a use for overripe fruit besides baking with it.

My husband has had a lot of nausea and vomiting lately from the kidney disease, and this was easy for him to eat and keep down as well. Tons of fiber and vitamins, and a lot better for him than the stuff he is usually able to keep down (mainly popsicles and canned soup).
