Yes, I know, in many places doing something like that would probably get a visit by the police after frantic calls from terrified mothers thinking some lunatic is trying to poison or injure their kids with hidden needles & razor blades. But my neighborhood is seriously awesome--I'll miss it when I have to leave.
Interesting because if our weather forecast was going to be better I was going to grill up a huge pack of hotdogs for the adults.

We go through 600 pieces of candy for Halloween. We let kids take more than 1 and a lot of outside people come to our neighborhood.

Such a crazy world we live in for that to be the first thought for most people!

This will actually be our first year getting trick-or-treaters. We've always lived in apartments that didn't allow it, but the condominium we live in does an event. It should be a good way to meet some new folks and get to enjoy the holiday too!

We live rural so don't get trick or treaters. Used to get a few of the kids friends stopping by when our kids were young and at home, but those days are long past.

We bought a couple of bags of assorted candy. Not sure how much it was but probably in the $20-30 range. Candy is pretty cheap and around Halloween they make it easy and sell large bags with 4 or 5 different candies in it so you get instant variety for $15.

Candy? $0.00 -- We're one of those families that make 9 year olds cry.

Not really, we just give out other stuff that's not quite as bad for kids. Our two go-to's are either fruit snacks (get a couple big boxes from Costco), or those chem-light bracelets/necklaces. Especially for the glow-things, kids seem to enjoy the variety (and parents always appreciated the safety & not-candy aspects). If fruit snacks, we normally get by just fine spending just $20 (or less). The glow stick things are more expensive, but I think the last year we did it, we got 80-100 for around $30.

How much do you spend on Halloween candy?

Halloween is tomorrow! My husband and I are volunteering to man a Halloween table in our highrise building and went out to get a few last-minute candy items (and a few different things for kids with allergies). We were floored at the prices of Halloween candy!!

How much do you all typically spend on Halloween/Halloween candy?
