Grills – Save Big Now On Summer Fun

By , February 9th, 2007 | No Comments

summer grillingWith it being the middle of winter, most people’s minds aren’t on the summer grilling season. That is exactly why you can save some serious money if you enjoy grilling or are in the market for a new grill. Conventional wisdom is that the discount sale season for summer grilling items is in late August when the vast majority of retailers close-out their summer stock on grilling equipment and accessories. While this is true, there are a smaller set of retailers – usually hardware stores and home improvement stores – that carry grilling equipment all year round. Beginning this month they will start to receive their 2007 summer inventory meaning all the old grilling goods must be discounted and sold.

The reason that this time of the year can result in major savings on grills and grilling accessories is that these close-out sales are rarely advertised. Since it is still cold out and people aren’t thinking about grilling, the advertising these stores run (if any) will not focus on the outdoor grill deals that they have. This often means that the retailer must deep discount the items to get them off the floor quickly to make room for the new arrivals.

If you are in the market for grilling goods, it’s worthwhile taking a trip down to these stores to see what they may be discounting. Also be aware that since these items may be former floor models, you need to be sure that they come in good working order with no missing pieces and include the instructions. You may find that by shopping now in the off-season that your summer enjoyment will cost a lot less than you imagined.
