Most washing machines these days have the rinse cycles set to cold water, but there are still some that allow you to rinse in warm or hot water. If your machine offers this choice, don’t do it. Always set the rinse cycle to cold. Rinsing in warm or hot water will do little to nothing to get your clothes cleaner, and it’s simply a waste of money. In addition, cold water rinses will help to keep the color of clothes brighter than with warmer rinses which can make colors fade more quickly costing even more money in earlier clothes replacement costs.
