Commonly referred to a the AMEX, it's the second largest stock exchange in the US. It's located in the financial district of New York City and was formerly known as the Curb Exchange due to its origin on a Manhattan Street. The stocks it trades are generally smaller stocks compared to those traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
