Smile Odd hour child care

I have 2 kids that I watch every Monday for $75. No daycare will take them on Monday as mom has to be to work at 6, before the centers are open.

I also have a couple I watch overnight once a month for $100. Again, no daycare is open those hours.

Just for doing odd hours, I make $400 a month for 5 days worth of kids.

I like hearing about the odd jobs people do to supplement or to piece together a living.

In our school district there is NO before school program for kids. There was a mom 2 blocks away who took kids from 6:30am and walked them over for start of school at 8:30 am. Have no idea what she charged/provided.

She also had a regular PT job that was 10-2. I think the kids amused each other & she would do laundry, make her kids lunches and start dinner in the early am.

Thats a good plan but how did you find clients? I need to make some extra money and I could certainly do this but I don't know anybody who needs child care at odd hours.

First one was craigslist.org. We met at McDonalds (a safe mutual location). found out she knew people I knew, and we went from there.

The second ones she told them about me--so was word of mouth...

That's really smart! It makes me wonder why I didn't think of that lol. I'll start asking around my neighborhood.

Wow, that's great!

I know of only one daycare that does odd hours here, they are a 24 hours, but I've never used them.
