Default sell plants on ebay

newbie here, just thought i'd share my little money making story. my old lady is a plant-a-holic, succulents and cactus to be exact and she has a slew of 'em - probably in the neighborhood of 350 different varieties. succulents can grow from clippings, just cut a chunk of the plant off, throw it in a box and mail it off. we've been selling cuttings on ebay for just over a month now, around 5 weeks and we have $1150+ in the ebay designated checking account. not too shabby for a 100% profit item that regrows itself to more dollars. her little garden hasn't even taken a hit with all the plants we've been sending out, i just hope the fish doesn't jump off the hook anytime soon.

That's insane, but I guess there is a market for everything! What is your e-bay feedback like? Is it all positive? Do people think they're getting a plant or just a part of a plant? How do you know what to charge for each plant, or do you just let the users bid.

Good for you!! This is awesome, hopefully you can turn this into a full time business

feedback has been 100% positive , we did have a lady complain about the cost of shipping. she started to make a big deal out of it so we just put her on the blocked bidders list. the backyard is just a standard size tract home backyard, maybee 80 feet by 60 feet. since may 27th our net profits are $1675, not too shabby for a 100% profit gig with very little overhead. the best thing about it is that the plants replenish themselves so we never run out of inventory.

I used to do this when I sold regularly. You just have to have a good eye for merchandise and shipping costs have to not kill the deal. I did particularly well on licensed items like Coke glasses.

ive been targeting lightweight items that will cost $1.30 or less to ship, right now im beta testing it, you really have to sell volume to make it worth while. im thinking of doing lots of 5 or 10's of the items im listing to generate more $$.

Very cool! I sell on ebay, but just stuff that we no longer need in our home. I do have one idea that might work. I suppose a little testing might be worth it.

Ebay is definitely good. It's almost as if people would rather pay 50% more for something, wait for it to be shipped, and get it at their door than to go to the store and pay much less.
Amazes me.

This is really interesting and has broaden my area of thinking on how I can do a little personal MLM of my own. I'm glad to hear your success. I will be growing a garden of my own someday and I hope getting my seeds and plants will be as easy as this in the future.

Also, you might want to take Senate Bill S510 into account.
