Dear Homeschoolers and Concerned Families,
It just came to my attention that the Costco Connection September monthly magazine is running an article about homeschooling and teaching certification. They are running a "Public Opinion" poll asking whether parents should be certified to homeschool their children. You DO NOT need to be a Costco member to vote. I would urge you all to take less than a minute to e-mail your vote of "NO" to show your support that we homeschooling moms and dads don't need a teacher's certification in order to be qualified to teach our own children. The website is Costco Connection - September 2008 or if the link above doesn't work go to Document and go to page 16 of the online magazine. Thank-you for your vote!!! (speaking of voting, now don't forget to make sure you're registered to vote in the November election!) ~ Delighted Director |

Many have a college degree and have been teachers that homeschool.
Either way who knows a child better than the genetic parents? Can you remember when know one understood you and you were a bit stuck in school.? |

I vote no on the certification. Those certification programs generalize everyone and turns yet another creative avenue into a buerocratic process. I like the idea of kids not all recieving the same education or thesame type of teachers- keeps our country diversified with new thoughts, ideas and perspectives.
