Good Afternoon Everyone!

If you don't mind me asking. What do you you all do to earn extra cash?

    Thanks,

    Re: Extra Cash

For extra $$$ I tutor several high school students, do some part-time selling on ebay, and bring as many "get rid of" items to my local consignment store, so that I may get some money back...

I've also done odd job things like addressing wedding invitations and cocktailing at parties, but those are slimmer to come by for me.

It is always easier for me to find more ways to cut spending than to earn extra money. I'm reading David Bach's book "The Automatic Millionaire" right now, and he addresses that exact topic as well.

I have some friends that have started walking dogs or offering their services to go by homes either regularly or when owners are on vacation. They charge about $15 per VISIT, so it can be and extra $30-$45/day ~

    New ideas are always welcomed...

      Re: Extra Cash

If you are in the area with a booming real-estate market, you can stay fairly busy doing loan signing stuff as a notary. My wife got her notary license for the same reason but with a fussy 6 mo she hasn't been able to do anything with it except do free notary signings at her day job.

I've been thinking about this topic myself quite a bit and I want the kind of job where I make the hours and time as they become available and not 'have to' go do it when I don't want to. Ebay sounds good...and though I hear a pizza dilevery job can pay well again it won't work for me.

I sell the girls outgrown clothes and toys on ebay, and also take some to our local consignment stores. Years ago (before kids) I used to rent out an extra bedroom, type papers (this is a college town) and I had several local people who would call me to watch their houses while they were gone. I charged $25 a week, to run by every day and bring in the mail and paper, turn the sprinklers off and on, turn lights off and on... I have also cleaned houses at $12 an hour for them to supply the cleaning equipment or $30 and I supply the cleaners and vacumme. Used to have 1 house every morning-5 days a week that I did when I worked the 3-11 shift. I cleaned from 9-12 every morning.

Another tutor here. I have a math degree and used to teach math. Now that I'm a SAHM, I tutor out of my home. Right now I have four students a week and might be getting one more next week.

I've made small amounts of money from eBay and half.com.

Do you have a talent that you could teach to others? Our local park and rec department offers a lot of classes and workshops taught by locals. Teachers get $5-$7 for each student. Some are classes that are only 1 night, others last 1 or 2 nights a week for 6 weeks. Classes include weight loss, finances, helping your teen pick a college, basic automobile mechanics, stained glass, quilting, knitting, basic mending skills, basic kitchen skills...

What I do is on weekends I work as a demonstrator at walmart & other grocery stores handing out samples the pay ranges I work for several different companys & get paid anywhere from $7.50 -$14 an hour, Sometimes I also do merchandising I love doing demos these are the only jobs that seem to fit in our schedule I also do ebay & rebates for extra money & in the spring summer & fall I have rummages my mom is in a great place for yard sales. I sale some of what I have in stockpile when I have rummages too & that always sales very fast anyways just a few ideas another thing I am considering is getting a graveyard shift job a few nights a week somewhere hopefully at like walmart so I can make a little more & get a discount too!!

                  Re: Extra Cash

One thing I haven't started yet but was told about: If you are a notary (or can become one) Time share sales use notaries. Even if you don't live near one, their are owners all over the US and they upgrade. The timeshare places then find a notary to come to their house and sign the paperwork. Pay is pretty good. A friend of mine in Florida does the timeshare selling. She found out that where I live (DE) there is a BIG need for people to be able to go to Maryland and what not. Apparently Maryland has some pretty strict rules and they can't send the paperwork into the notaries in Maryland.

All you need is a fax machine or computer/printer. They send you the paperwork via fax or email, you go to the people's houses and have them sign, you notorize it and send it back. Couple hundred bucks all total for a couple hours work.

Also, I sell all my old stuff on ebay and yahoo auctions. Haven't done that lately though. For a little bit of money you can offer all kinds of services. (Watering plants for those on vacation, cleaning out closets, organizing photo albums.) Think about what you can do well or like to do. Print up some flyers and post them at places like libraries, grocery stores, etc.

                    Re: Extra Cash

I'd check your state laws on notary work carefully. Here, you have to be bonded first, and pass a background check. You can be held responsible if the papers you are notarizing are not what they seem to be. In MO, , notarys are very common, and we don't pay a notary--its a free service. All banks and goverment offices have one. (If you offer payment to a notary that is in a goverment office, its a crime for them to accept the payment.) You just have to provide the proper ID. My grocery store even has one at the customer service booth, as well as the utilitiy companys, real estate offices and car dealers.

                      Re: Extra Cash

Around here (MN) you can make good money mowing in the summer and shovelling in the winter. As for some of the more creative ways I've earned money: 1) Market research for a local firm. (They pay you to come in and tell them what you think of their products.) I'd like to think the internet sites that do this kind of thing are legit, but I've had MUCH better luck with local firms. 2) Going to timeshare presentations, but only if they'll pay you in cash or cash equilivant (the trips are VERY hard to take and NOT free). BTW, never ever never ever buy a timeshare at one of these presentations. 3) I currently have 2 credit cards paying me monthy to keep "credit-protector plus" on my cards. It would be a horrible deal if I ever used these cards, but since I don't . . . 4) Finally I'll concur with the other posts and say eBay, half.com, and tutoring. Good luck!

                        Re: Extra Cash

Got a part time job. I got my Notary but I use it at my part time job and have never charged anyone. I can get 2 dollars per signature here in NYS. I'll pretty much do anything that is legal in order to get a few extra bucks. I have moved some people. I have done yard work. I bought a power sprayer and have done peoples decks and patios. I have cleaned out a few basements. I'm thinking of getting into basic woodworking in order to make home made toys for folks.

If you are so inclined you can make money doing jobs people won't do for themselves. You can use your imagination as there are many ways to turn a buck!

34saiving - I deleted the post you were asking the question about. The post was spam and therefore deleted. It also went against our rules of posting affiliated sites. We believe (and it is our rules) that if a site is good enough to recommend to other members, then it should be recommended without an affiliate link. That keeps the scams and spam to a minimum.

I started to earn extra cash by accident. I walk our dogs every evening and one week a neighbor was out of town and asked me to walk their dogs while they were gone. When agreed, word got around and now I pick up 5 different dogs on my daily walk and that brings in an extra $200 a month. It's not bad for something I would be doing anyway.
