The best time of the year. Back to school this week. My first grader starts on Wednesday. Preschool starts on Friday. We do a batch of banana pancakes. My kids don't need maple syrup for them. Also I picked up some quick muffin mixes that I will throw some blueberries in as well. We need quick breakfasts.

I don't plan mine by the day just 5 days then use them as seems appropriate. I allow 1 day for leftovers and another day for a more convenience type food we might have onhand or eating out if we can afford it. Sometimes we have leftovers again on that day. Sometimes I thaw out more meat than we need and we use it anothe day. So the plans aren't kept to exactly but I plan for 1 week and then carry over to the next week any menus we haven't used yet. Actually I start my meals on Thursday so we have already eaten some of this. I usually try and have 2 fish days or one vegetarian but doesn't always work out. Sometimes I plan a vegetable dish but often I just use what I have onhand. We eat a lot of veggies, some from our garden. Usually I serve at least one type veggie with lunch and at least 2 with dinner. We also eat a lot of fruit but I don't plan it unless it is in a dessert which is rare, but we have it with breakfast and between meals. I try and keep bananas on hand to use on cereal but we also use other fruit on our cereal. We only eat eggs 1-2 times a week. Occasionally I have only toast, fruit and tea for breakfast. Rarely we have bagels, English Muffins or some other type bread or pancakes. But I don't plan breakfast usually we just decide each day what we want and often each does his own...no kids here so it's easier.

Day 1 Burgundy Beef Patties
Salad

Day 2 Cajun Salmon
Salad or sliced tomatoes
Corn Bread

Day 3 Beef Stew

Day 4 Can-Can Chicken
Stir-Fried Veggies

Day 5 Cauli-flied Rice
Cake with fudge sauce
