Anyone have one they care to share? I have a bread machine and a food processor, as well as a mixer with a dough hook, if any of that matters.
I've tried making pizza dough in the past, but it's never tasted all that yummy. It's been OK, but definitely nothing to write home about. When we order out for pizza, sometimes the crust is the best part, to me. |

I use Laine's recipe from her letters. Here you go:
Restaurant Pizza Crust 2 c. warm water 2 T. brown sugar 2 T. yeast Whisk together and let proof. (Get bubbly, about ten minutes time.) 2 T. olive oil 1 1/2 t. salt 5 c. bread flour Add the rest in order and mix together well. Then knead 5 minutes or so. Cover and let rise. Roll out two large crusts from this dough and bake. I let it knead in my bread maker. |

the one I use is :
4 cups flour 12 tsp salt 1 pg yeast put in the kitchenaid mixer for a second or two then add: 2 tbls EVOO 1 cup water. Then the part that sounds hard, ignore it for a few minutes then check to see if it os too hard make a ball by foldng it under itself. If the top cracks add a teaspoon of water. if the dough sticks to you add a teaspoon of flour. then let the machne knead it again for a few mnutes. Most mportantly have the pan and oven already hot, a cold pan doesn't make a good crust IMO. |

Here's my favorite, from www.vegweb.com. I've never used club soda, always beer. Make sure you use a beer you like, otherwise the crust may taste a bit rank.
Fastest, Easiest Homemade Pizza Crust Ingredients: 2 cup unbleached all purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 12 oz. beer or club soda Directions: Preheat oven to 400. Combine all ingredients. Dough does not have to rise at all, but will be fairly wet and sticky. Press into oiled cookie sheet (12 x 18" or slightly smaller works well). If it seems too sticky to work with, sprinkle a little flour on it as you pat/press it into the pan, or oil your hands slightly. Top with your favorite sauce & toppings. Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is browning & crisp around edges. Serves: 4-6 Preparation time: 30 min |

All these sound good, but I use the jiffy mix--I can get 4 of the small boxes for $1. Thats 4 pizza's worth of dough.
