Default lentil-okra stew

I make a very simple and very healthy soup in the crock pot:
1 lb dry lentils
1 pkg frozen cut okra
2 cans of chopped mushrooms or 1 pkg fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 medium onion, chopped

combine all ingredients in crock pot. cook on low overnight. serve with hot sauce or soy sauce. soup can be served over rice.

Do you add water with this to make it a broth? Good it's vegetarian I'll actually get the stuff to make this seems pretty simple. I haven't bought okra in ages though. Is it very expensive? I wonder how this would taste by adding the water and then some sort of broth or something with it.

Oops, sorry! Yes, add water.I usually add enough to cover all the ingredients, plus about one or two more inches. The less water, the more stew-like it will be. More water and it's more like soup.
