www.cooks.com
is the best if you are looking for a certian recipe you had seem etc... with specific ingredents in it. Example: I was looking for a pound cake recipe with I new 8 eggs and other ingredents. It gives ya many recipes for the same results...like pound cake made 100 ways to end result pound cake... |

If you don't mind something a little fancier, check out Epicurious. They have reviews for their recipes so you can pick out recipes that are obvious "losers". This site is really great around the holidays if you are looking for something a little different. One of the holiday desserts on our regular rotation is from there - Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce. *droooool*

www.cakemixdoctor.com is a website with a forum that has wonderful ideas cookies and bars of course done with cake mixes.
The one I use often is devils food chocolate cake mix with 2 eggs and 1/4 cup oil I think? and make cookies out of it. But since my family goes crazy when peanut butter is in anything, I tend to put peanut butter chips on the top of the cookie right before it is baked! |

Check out America's Test Kitchen, too. They have a lot of recipes that you have to pay for to get, but many that you don't have to pay for. I highly recommend their cookbook, too - it's about $35. Nice Christmas wish list item.

I like epicurious a lot because the recipes have been reviewed by "regular" people. You can read the reviews and get good ideas how to modify the recipe- for instance 6 out of 10 people might say a little to bland for our tastes- the next time I would add... Really helpful and specific reviews. In general though I start with www.info.com and just type in what I am looking for and generally it finds me several sites to look at.
