Default Ramen Noodles

My DD LOVES the chicken flavored ramen noodles. She doesn't like them as a soup, just as noodles.

Curious if anyone has any ideas for using the left-over juice/broth... I hate to dump it down the drain if it can be used..

We cook the noodles, drain, and then put the flavor packet on the noodles.

This is how hubby does it too...but I am worried that might be too much sodium for a little one....

I know many salad dressing recipes (particularly Asian) call for the flavor packet.

Pick up packets of plain noodles at an Asian market & add to the broth. Soak it all up and there won't be leftover soup.
The ramen type noodles are soooo cheap at Asian markets, as is most of the food there. Rice is an incredible bargain, just be prepared...........there are tons of varieties & non printed in English, at least at our stores.

We add the broth to rice when we're preparing dinner. It gives the rice a nice flavor. We also use it to steam vegetables, or we toss it in a chicken stir-fry.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for....
American packaged ramen often contains an unusually high amount of MSG, and the noodles are often pre-fried in fat. A particular health concern is the amount of sodium in the flavoring—one packet usually contains in excess of 60% of the US Recommended Dietary Allowance. The noodles themselves are not particularly high in sodium, so health conscious individuals can either avoid drinking the broth, or make a more diluted version by using less of the flavoring packet contents. Found this at http://www.wikipedia.org/

We use the noodles with stir-fry's, etc., when we don't have time to make rice.

The remaining flavored broth, DH loves to cook frozen veggies and add to make a soup. It's the only homemade soup he makes, but it's delicious. Personally I add additional water and a touch of soy sauce or herbs ( I like herb seasoning for chicken), which dilutes the salt and adds flavor.

we use the noodles in chicken noodle soup... also, in chicken soup
the noodles make wonderful taste like dumplings, when we are in
a hurry... we use the spices in dressings and stir frys, what ever.

We usually use ramen noodles and home grown frozen veggies for a quick soup around here, I occasionally use the flavor packets for flavoring rice.

I also use it as part of a stir fry dish. You can also add sausage & any canned veggies to it (I would suggest adding the canned veggies while the noodles are cooking so they absorb the flavor from the flavor packet). If you are adding hot dogs I either cook them with the noodles or I just make the noodles & put the hot dog on the bottom of the bowl & pour the soup over it. By the time the soup is cool enough to eat the hotdog is usally cooked.
I make mac'n cheese with it & add corn to it YUMMY!
