How do you sign up for Pinecone?

Pinecone (and other survey sites) probably won't send you a year-end tax summary unless you earn $600 or more with them. Highly unlikely at $5 a pop.
I do save all the stubs from Pinecone and other survey sites. I report it as self-employed income at the end of the year. |

I've received maybe $75-100 so far this year doing surveys. You can make more money doing "paid to try" offers, where you get a bonus for signing up for a service using your credit card and then cancelling the service during the money-back-guarrantee window. I have not done this because it seems too time-consuming and too risky to me, although some credit card companies will give you temporary account numbers which is a lot more secure for this type of thing. If you're interested, here's a good resource to learn about paid-to-try: Link |

I received my second check yesterday. I am allowing my 11yo dd to deposit these into her savings. I might as well take her on this financial journey with me...if I teach her now she won't be on this board with my problems in 20 years.

AOL Opinion Place will credit your credit card for you. I still take the surveys even though AOL switched to free content so they had my credit card on file. I took a survey the other day (10 minutes) and they credited me $2.25. I understand why people think this is a waste but for me....every little bit helps. I try to make an additional $100 or $200 from multiple sources each month to apply to debt repayment.

Real Money?? I get $5 checks from Pinecone probably two to three times a month, and I also do NFO My Survey, which I've gotten a couple $10 checks. You have to do surveys for different point values though, and once you have 1,000 points (=$10) you can cash out. Also I've done Survey Spot for a couple $2-3 checks here and there.

Wow, I haven't had that many surveys from Pinecone. I had a couple from Pinecone that were unpaid, but more for their own research than a third party.
timetosave, Just be grateful for the opportunity to earn a little extra money!! |
