Personalize Announcements for Money

I have never done this one, but I have a friend that has done pretty well at it. I just am not artsy-crafty enough, but if you have even basic skill I'm sure you could do this.

He goes through the local paper and cuts out wedding announcements and other stories that praise locals. The wedding announcements usually will contain an address or number and he looks up the phone number of others.

All he does is take the newspaper clipping and lacquers it onto a piece of wood for display on the wall. When people get their name in the paper, it is always a proud moment, but those scraps usually get tucked away in a book only to be seen once every few years. With the clip lacquered and mounted, it goes straight on the wall for everyone to see.

He just calls and sees if the people in the clips are interested in having the news done for display. Once he has the orders, he spends an afternoon doing them all together. The more special the occassion or article, the more he can charge. He makes a nice side income doing this.
