Exclamation Negative Feedback on E*Trade

I came across the following complaints against E*Trade:

E*Trade Complaints

I was mortified!!! I didn't know that brokerage houses can sell shares of your stock, unannounced to you, to pay for "no trade" account fees. At least I found this out before opening a E*Trade account.

What if the consumer wants to hold onto the stock for a few years? Something is not right here...

Always read the fine print and understand it before you enter into an agreement concerning your money!

So far I can't complain about e-trade. It is where my company's ESOP is handled. My friends like Scott Trade for the very reason there are no inactivity fees.

Unfortunately for me, the broker that I originally opened my account with was consumed by e-trade, therefore, I didn't have much choice. And unfortunately, in order to transfer my account, it will cost me $60. I think for the investor that is not going to make a whole lot of trades, Scottrade offers the best options. Anyone who has a Scottrade account have any issues with them?

My brother uses Scottrade quite often and he's enjoyed that relationship quite a bit. I had e*trade for the ESPP (no options for me ) and have no complaints.

I hear you JMJ. I am not a high enough "tier" for options. Actually fine with me cause I dont want to be married to a company for my options. I just take the 15% discount the company gives me.
