MyBankingDirect also has a $25 signup bonus.

Unfortunately, they do require a $5K deposit, and to get the bonus you have to maintain the $5K balance for the first 3 months.

For 5k, making $25 in 3 months is an annualized return of just 2%. Plus the 3.75% for three months...so 5.75% annualized. That's not too shabby for the hassle. (And provided you have the 5k

MyBankingDirect increased the APY on its money market account to 4.00% to match EmigrantDirect.

Unfortunately, the $25 signup bonus seems to have gone away.

EmigrantDirect is still better in my opinion since there's no minimum requirements. There's still a $5K initial deposit requirement for MyBankingDirect.

While I think that this is great it is beyond my options. I wish more "normal" accounts offered such deals. I have done ING already.

GMAC went way up from 3.45% to 3.75% (wish ING Direct would do similar).

Also UmbrellaBank increased from 3.75% to 3.85%.

Both of these banks seem to be a decent alternative to EmigrantDirect. Their rates are not quite as high and they do have minimum required deposits, but they also have many other features like ATM access, checking accounts, and CDs.

Not bad rates at all. What I am doing is rolling over 4 week tbills on treasury direct with my excess cash in the checking account. Tbills now only require $1000 and the last auction was at 3.52% and looks like it will continue to trend higher.

The bank in my home town is paying 4.14% in a savings account. The minimum is $50,000.
