Default Tax question re: making payments...

We got hit pretty hard on federal taxes this year and went with the option to make payments. They let us pick our payment amount and due date. Now, it's been almost a month and I am wondering...will they bill us, or do we just send it in? I thought you had to get approved, but we haven't heard anything. Anybody know?

Thanks!

Amy I would call.

The IRS is one place I wouldn't want to be maying a late payment to.

Depending on when you actually applied you will eventually get a letter detailing out your payments, fees and interest. Best recommendation is to start sending in at least the payment amount you put on the installment agreement ASAP. If you can do more, great, do it for sure, but don't do less under any circumstances. Mail a check to the address that you return is sent to and make sure you put the primary SSN on the memo line and "form 9465 installment payment".
