Yea, ING isn't on that list! They were 4% and are now 4.15% -- the increased it right after I opened an account.
Edit: I just realized the list is from 2005. Oops. |

I am getting 4.14 on my local savings account, which makes it convenient to get to.

yeah it's old but isn't it neat to "look back?"
my GMAC account just recently nudged up to 4.64%, we'll see if it bumps again after the most recent rate increase. it will be interesting to see as rates stabilize in the 5 - 6% range, assuming they do, if these banks will keep offering these account rates without more substantial minimum deposits or if they will otherwise slide the yield down somewhat. I don't know so I have to ask; before the rates dropped, that is, when they were at this level the last time, were there as many accounts of these types running around that were so easy to open with rates approaching 5%? If they were I don't remember them but honestly, I wasn't looking for them much back then (I was still carrying around credit card debt and involved in other assorted stupidity). |
