In general, it would be utilities. Without it paid up to date, then life is going down down. Too hard to find alternative way unless we start using candles or find a well for water. We have been dependent on the modern use. Unlike in the rural areas, these things are not even the least of their worries.

Okay, then, I'm taking bets as to what your project is.

I'm putting my money on two similar possibilities.

1) You are fashioning lyrics for a hot, new breakout song, which will have us all fawning, "He's the new Bob Dylan!"

2) You are writing a book of children's poetry which will have us all fawning, "He's the new Shel Silverstein!"

If it is neither of those, hold my marker as I plan to do those myself using responses from this post.

Thumbs up Introducing Slash Your Spending!

Hey Guys,

Just a quick update...For those who have been contributing the awesome feedback to this thread and for the newcomers, I'm happy to announce that I will be launching my new money management system called "Slash Your Spending".

Slash Your Spending will feature:
1.) A 330 page E-book that teaches anyone regardless of income, gender, age, or even job history on how to cut back on spending without giving up on the things they love! So even if you're still living at home with mom and dad, unemployed, not making much money, or living on such a tight budget that you can't afford shoes -- this book will still help you save money. These same methods helped me save over $17,000 in one year!

Some of the topics covered are: household expenses, personal expenses, family expenses, medical expenses, personal debt, transportation, travel and much more!

2.) Also included is my “Mind and Motivation” audio course. There are 2 basic mindsets when it comes to saving money, the spending mindset and the savings mindset. Even if you think you have a savings mindset, I'm 99% sure you're wrong! I'll tell you exactly why in this course and much more!

This is just the start! I include personal 1 on 1 coaching and also 4 bonus reports on topics all to do with saving money.

There you have it. This project has been in the works for quite some time now and I'm still making tweaks with all of your great suggestions and ideas

Slash Your Spending is set to launch May 19th!

Take care guys and keep the feedback coming
Brandon

House renovation or mortgage. Somehow the expenses do not seem that much since we do each section bit by bit. But adding it all up, that's when you get the whole picture of the amount.

eating out in restaurants. I don't do that a lot. I did not see a category for "mortgage", which for me is the biggest and most annoyingly large expense. lol

It's truly amazing how simple things can add up too so much $$!

3 visits (short end of the stick) to Starbucks a week = $10 a week NOT including times you buy an extra muffin or piece of carrot cake:P

= $40/month
= $480 a year on coffee alone (low end number again)

And this is just ONE expense that most of us feel we NEED

Starbucks is not a need I have ever had, but I don't drink coffee of any kind. :P I am pretty partial to books... in fact, before I go to work this evening I'm heading by Barnes & Noble first. I really need to invest in a Nook.

True!

Sorry that came out wrong:P I meant for the coffee drinkers, it's an expense they feel they need, but in actual fact it would save them quite a bit of money per year just to stop the habit.

Yeah. Eating out has taken much toll on budgets of many. We are guilty of that too. From fast breakfast up to late night coffee on the way home. That has got to stop.
