Default What is an 'Electronic Check'?

Hi,

I hear people talking about this all the time but I have no clue to what it really is

Can anybody enlighten me on this electronic check?

Can I use it if I have a bank account?

Thanks

An electronic check is essentially the same function as a Debit card in regards to internet.

However, electronic checks require your routing #, account #, and check #. This information is generally used for automatic withdrawels from a vendor... My gym membership for example. However, they are also used to make purchases over the internet as well.

Personally ... I dont care to do any transactions this way. Too time consuming and once they get the information they do have the ability to go into your account.

And while I could be wrong on this ... i BELIEVE they offer less protection then a Debit card.
