just wondering peoples thoughts on the recent recovery with the stock market... Since March 9th we have seen a dramatic rebound of the stock market. Alot of articles i have been reading recently have been suggesting a large sell off of around 10-15%. So i guess my question is what are your thoughts on whats going to happen in the short term? Thanks for your opinions

If a person claims to have a worthy opinion about the future direction of the stock market, turn around and walk away.
In all seriousness though, absolutely nobody knows for sure. You may as well ask your cat over any of us. There could be a big pullback next week, or the market could keep chugging along to 11,000. Frankly though, it shouldn't matter. If the markets go up, we make paper gains. If the markets go down, we get more buying opportunities. For investors with a solid long-term plan, it's a win-win either way. I sold some positions this week, and am sitting on some cash, so I personally would enjoy a pullback to have the opportunity to lower my cost-basis on some investments. |

Stock tips are like buttholes - everyone has one and most of them stink.
I think the falling dollar may actually become a good thing. It may lead to a resurgence of US manufacturing and an increase in our export economy. You can easily find stocks that lend themselves to that strategy. |

I really don't care about short term and know that DCA, being diversified in several no load fund classes, and turning off Mad Money is the only way to investing. I hope there's a big sell off so I can buy more with retirement 30+ years away.
