Default Recommendation for business financial software?

A have a friend who has her own business and finally decided to use a software and not excel for her biz finances.

She was reading reviews for the big names: Money, Quicken and Quickbooks but she got scared by the horror stories.

What do you recommend for a small business? She is a realtor.

Quickbooks is probably the most popular one of all of them. PeachTree accounting is another one that is not as famous but people say it flows better.

Of course, every business has its unique requirements and challenges which is where the big guys like SAP, ORACLE etc have different modules for each business function i.e. Finance, Accounting, HR, Payroll, etc.

If she is not set up as a seperate entity for tax purposes she could probably get by with Quicken or MS Money. There is a free one Gnucash.

If she is something more I would suggest Quickbooks since it is better supported.

I would definitely recommend QuickBooks (especially because that is what most CPA's will have small businesses use).

Quickbooks is a great option. Vertex42 also has a number of free and high quality spreadsheets for small businesses.
