Default i seem to have MAJOR issues

I seem to have some issues. All i do is think about money. I had a girlfriend who bled me dry, literally!

I am now very worried when it comes to money. I went over my phone bill cap my around $100 dollars, first time i have ever done this with my new phone which i had for nearly a year now. I am so angry at myself i have been beating myself up over it all day. It is so wasteful!

I go out and have fun, i go out and buy new clothes when it is only needed. I went through a stage where i sold a lot of things that i splurged on just to make myself feel better. I have no other debt apart from a car loan. I am a student with around 2000 in my bank account.

I dont know why i have such issues with money. I have mates who go out and spend 10's of thousands on their "cars" or "holidays" i could never do that because i dont feel it is right. I feel i will never survive unless i have a decent amount of savings in my account.

If i go over my cap or get caught speeding i get so down on myself i think it is because i lost so much money from my last girlfriend. I am only 21 so i guess atleast this happened while i was young. I am now seeing a new girl who is amazing and i dont want my anger to ruin our friendship why do i feel like such a mess?

Find a financial philosophy that suits you, then a woman that suits it. In this order.

You can read The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey to get a good foundation for your financial plan. Having an established plan will ease your tension. Your plan will evolve somewhat as you evolve from student to working single to family.

I have worked with so many women who are big spenders, but there are some out there who are not. Beware the money hungry women.

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil...." 1Tim 6:10. Money is not the problem. The "love of money" is the problem. We are supposed to be a good steward of the money entrusted to our care, and I think that may be why you beat yourself up...you just want to do the right thing. The bottom line is you are probably to the extreme side of frugal. That is not all together bad, as long as you are not obsessive about it.

On the comment about women spending too much by somone....I've seen MANY men who spend too much on their toys. Spending problems is not a gender issue! (This is from a man who has plenty of "toys"!)

It is like quick sand. If one thing is stuck it pulls everything with it. Trust in your skill and think positive. But let me tell you, thinking positive didn't help me.

Men can waste just as much if not more money but I have a male friend who is in debt who will spend $200 on dinner and drinks on a women who disrepects him just b/c he is lonely. Men are in the position of spending money on dating;sorry but they normally foot the bill.

I don't think it's fair for guys to always pay for dates. Yet guys have gotten insulted when I've tried to pay. Why?

I am sorry but, I urge you to walk away from her nasty action. So, hurtful and mean spirit woman you hang out with. It is time to have a new life and enjoy the idea of born free.

You cant do anything about the money you lost, all i can say is that you have learnt a practical lesson from your life. Start working on your finances and become smart in your financial matters, specially in this time of recession. Start a fresh, save a lot, spend mostly on yourself.

Good question.. I think men feel masculine when they pay. It's chivalrous and they feel good when they do it. Hey, it doesn't bother me!
