Default glad the market is at least up some days

I am feeling a bit more confident about the market even tho unemployment rates are dismal. I dont' follow it closely, but I am glad to see it is not down every day or most days like it seemed to be before(knock on wood).

Me too. I just hope it gets back the level it was at in 2007 so I can start making money again.

haha that may take a little while, but give it time.... until then, those of us who started investing in late '06 through late '07 will be in the red for a little while. But the good news is that we can still pick up more shares for the dollar right now, and so lower our break-even value point.

I imagine it will continue to go up, but with the amount of money coming off the Fed's presses, inflation and likely hyper-inflation will make any gains in the market average meaningless. If the currency isn't worth as much, having more of it doesn't mean you have more purchasing power.

I should say I think that'll be the case at least for the next few years. I don't want to sound too pessimistic and imply that I think it will never go back up

I started investing in later 2007- yes, that's right, at the peak of the market. Oh well- I am hoping to start seeing things turn around. And like what was mentioned above, it's sure nice to be able to have cash to buy while things are so incredibly low right now. Stocks are on sale.
