Hi,
I am wondering if someone could link me up to the website that allows you to buy a week of timeshare off of a Disney Timeshare owner. I seem to recall there was a specific website that allowed you to do that. We are a family of 5 right now (a baby) and I am thinking one of those timeshare resorts would be nice and I figure in the economy, I may be able to get a good deal at Saratoga Springs, or where my wife has always wanted to stay - Wilderness Lodge. Looking to stay a week. I tried MouseSavers.com - Disney Discount Source - Disney World Discounts, Disneyland Discounts, Disney Cruise Discounts but that didn't seem to be right. I think this makes the most sense, other than staying off the park, which I can't talk the wife into doing.

Here's one. Personally, I'd go offsite any day over onsite. Way, way cheaper. The onsite places are very nice but so expensive. But if you can't convince the wife, then renting DVC is probably the way to go.

Disneysteve has linked you to a good resource for renting. How soon before you are planning to travel? What size accomodations are you looking for? With a baby under 3, you could fit into a studio , but most studio configerations are going to be a Qu size bed and a foldout (there would be a pack-n-play for the baby). Old Key West studios have 2 Queens. There are a couple of new resorts coming on line. One is Animal Kingdom Lodge (already open, but a new section is opening in May). Some of the 1BRs sleep 5 and have 2 bathrooms. Opening Aug 4th is Bay Lake Towers--this is part of the Contemporary Resort. All the 1 BRs sleep 5 and have 2 Bathrooms. The DVC 1 BRs have a king size bed in the BR and a fold out couch in the LR (the ones that sleep 5 have a chair that folds out, too. )Last edited by Like2Plan : 03-30-2009 at 05:10 PM. |

I don't know. . .I am looking to comfortable sleep 4 and a 1/2. It would be nice to have a queen or king for the adults and the kids have twins or a double to share or something. It just seeems when there is 2 double beds, it just isn't enough.

May I ask why your wife objects to staying off-site?

It's just one of those things, DisneySteve. She wants to be in Disney. . .she wants to be in Disney, not at a Holiday Inn.

I wasn't thinking of the Holiday Inn. There are many wonderful rental properties very close to Disney property (some even closer to the parks than some of Disney's own hotels). You can rent anything from a 2-bedroom condo to a multi-bedroom single home with a private screened-in pool, full kitchen, big screen TV, game system, etc. And the cost is incredible.

How and where do you find out about these homes and condos for rent? Are you actually renting off individuals? |

Yes. VRBO is NOT just for Disney. We used it to rent a wonderful chalet in Stowe, VT a couple of years ago. So much better than staying in some generic hotel.
