WOW there are a lot of personal finance books out there. I'd like to pick up 2-4 to purchase and read (and have on hand whenever I need to reference them). The others will just be rented from the library when time permits. Problem is I'm having trouble deciding. I'm planning on getting 2-3 from the Basics on PF list and 1-2 from the Investing list.
Basics on PF Millionare Next Door Dave Ramsey TMM Your Money or Your Life Quaterlifer's Companion WSJ Finance Everything Personal FInance in your 20s Debby Fowles The only other investment guide you will ever need Investing The Automatic Millionare Bogleheads GUide to investing Jim Cramer's Real Money high risk investing Motley Fool's You have more money than you think you have Anyone willing with some knowledge feel like helping me narrow it done to 4 books! Thanks, |

I only have 'Millionaire Next Door' and 'WSJ Personal Finance', but I thought they both were great. WSJ teaches the basics of just about everything PF-related, which is great for someone just starting out. Millionaire talks about making responsible, frugal living, and saving a way of life. Personally, I really enjoyed Millionaire--the author writes in an almost conversational tone, which makes it very easy to read.

Why don't we have anything by Eric Tyson up here? He writes all of the "For Dummies" series that have anything to do with finance. Personal Finance for Dummies, Mutual Funds for Dummies, etc. Great books for both the "Dummy" and the well read.

I plan on it, but I'm only going to buy about 3 or 4. The rest will be borrowed from library. But I want to buy a few to have close by for reference.
