Talking home business opportunity - update!!

last week I brought some tamales to the office....today I had orders for 66 tamales and, someone at HR tasted them and has ordered 36 for next Wed, for a breakfast they're having (that means 31 people will get to taste them!! ...potential new customers!!)
Also, have had other people come to me and ask about them...I know not everyone will buy every week, but, with a larger pool of customers...(and these are totally independent from our "weekend" customers!! )

I'm so happy to hear that the business is working out well and the word is spreading about your food. If this keeps up, you're going to have to spend all your time cooking Keep up the great work and hope to hear a lot more of these updates in the near future.

woo-hoo! Everyone at the HR breakfast looooved the tamales!...Mercy - who was in charge of the breakfast - says everyone wanted to know who they could talk to to order some!!...she gave them my extension number!!...I also set myself a "goal" of telling at least 5 "new" people about it, and, I have already told 4! (and I still haven't gone to the building across the street, where purchasing and Help Desk are!!...lots of people out there!!) ...215 tamales to go to fill this weeks "quota"!!

isn't 4 cents a bit low? I am not sure what you charge but you might be able to raise the price just a bit, I would imagine that it takes time to make them and all. You are worth more than 4 cents a minute much less however long it takes to make one.

it's 8 cents per unit, divided between my cousin and me...the thing is, you have to charge less than the supermarket downstairs (we have a supermarket in the building) or people will go to them (and, at the volumes they sell, they have them at $0.35 each, we have them at 3X $1)....we keep looking at things that will have a higher return!...but, today I have orders for 116 tamales!!

Great news!...what is increasing our production costs is the price of the banana leafs (used to wrap the tamales)...because of the wind and cold, they are hard to find, but, now that the weather is getting warmer and the wind is subsiding (sp?) the price might come down...so our production cost might drop from 0.25 to 0.20...Pray for good weather!!

...I had an idea this past week, that maybe we could go to a church and sell to people right after the 7:30 mass (tamales are generally eaten for breakfast or dinner here)...we went, but it didn't go right...I think it's the execution, though (we were there at 7:30, should have arrived a little earlier) and think this is a good idea...also, probably didn't choose the "right" church for the tamales (wrong market)....I think I can still convince my cousin of trying a different church (in another part of town) next week....who knows, maybe I can even convince her of going into church to hear the mass!! (he,he....she's been kind of "cold" lately, whereas she used to be a lot closer to God....)
