Default Gift Card Trades

Is there a place where people can trade gift cards? I received a gift card for $100 from a store that I don't usually shop at. I thought I would sell it on eBay, but I looked and they seem to sell for only about 70% to 85% of their value. I would like to find a place where I could trade my card for a card of equal value, but a store where I shop. Does anyone know of a website like this?

I have not used either, but you can check out:

www.cardavenue.com
www.swapagift.com

I do think there are fees ~ somewhere in the area of $4. It might be worth it though to get something you'll actually use. With ebay, you risk not knowing what you'll end up getting. With these sites, it's pre-determined, and your posting lasts 90 days, I believe. (You don't pay every 5-7 days...)

Good luck!

Has anyone gone ahead and used the cardavenue or swapagift website?

I've checked both sites and there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity. Maybe things pick up after Christmas, when people have more cards to trade? Also, on most of the listings I checked, they were from new people with no feedback. So far I don't feel too confident about either one, so I'd love to read about someone else's experiences with them.

I've seen several gift-card trade requests at craigslist at their barter section.

The site includes most major cities. If you're not in one of them, it may not be a good choice.

I've always been impressed with craigslist. It has always been focused on the community rather than making money. Posting is free for the vast majority of items. I also like their simple website: nothing fancy, but very functional.

Do you know anyone who does shop at that store? If so, maybe you could sell it to them for a few bucks below value. They're happy they saved a few bucks, and you're happy that you got close to the full amount.
