What are the taxes that are present these days? What does a person need to do for tax preparation?

OP, where are you located? Are you a beginning wage earner? There are many places who will help you with tax prep. Contact your local library and they can probably point you to someone in your area that can assist you.

Or, are you looking at becoming a tax preparer?

Thanks for the reply, but i m avoiding the tax advisor first i would like to figure it out at my own, and see that how things work because it will help me gaining knowlwdge and to keep a check on the tax advisor, also i would be actively taking part in the preperation of tax. Well If you can suggest any more things regarding the same?

Yes, this is good because even if you are hiring a tax advisor, but first you have to educate yourself.

I think it's great you want to learn.

In my state - yearly there is state income tax that needs to be prepared as well as federal income tax. Deadline for both of these was yesterday, April 15th.

Again, I'd go to the public library as they have forms and booklets there as well to help you.

How proficient are you with installing software? There are many computer programs available to walk you thru the process.

Even so, the first few times I did it myself? I'd still go to one of the free tax prep places and have someone more practiced go over my returns to be sure I'd hit all the bases.
