Default Utility bills and credit score

I Am 20 years old and a fico Credit score of 724 (as of 10/07).
Next year I will be sharing an apartment with 3 of my friends from college.
Would putting the utilities gas/ electric etc. in my name help improve my credit score? (assuming they would be paid in full every month)
Thanks

Probably not.

that score of 724 is quite good. The likelihood something little like a utility bill would improve it is not what I think... but I also am not an expert on credit scores.

Sorry, it will not help. Utilities do not report to credit agencies -- unless you don't pay them, then they could possibly give you a negative mark.

I'd opt out of being the one named anyway. Roommates & billpaying are notorious for not working out exactly as planned. Someone's always just a little short this month.
