Default Why is the government allowed to play games with money?

Someone please explain to me why the government is allowed to play games with money when if we tried to do the same thing with our taxes, we'd end up in jail. Shouldn't the government be required to be honest as we are when we report tax income?

Could you be more specific as to what games the government is playing?

Because most Americans do not bother to exert the control/pressure we were given rights to by the founding fathers to stop the abuses.

In fact most Americans sit by while the government slowly takes away any power we were granted by the constitution.

Do you even know how to contact your senator or congressman? when was the last time you wrote a letter telling them what you thought of a particular issue?

We are all guilty of allowing the politicos to do as they please.

A good organization is Congress.org Home They will send you any new legislation to be voted on and has forms already set up that will automatically send your remarks to the ones that you want including the President, Vice-President, etc.

I receive alot of information from reading their newsletters.

I've tried to write my congress person and call and I get no where. My personal belief is that unless you are sitting on a fat bank roll or know them personally your "voice" in the nations capital doesnt give a "blank" about you. Sorry for the cynicism....

well a bank roll helps, but so does being in the majority...(it is kinda either or...big bank roll or be in the majority) course if you happen to be an odd point of view you wont find friends, but if you never wrote, you wont know if there are others like you writing?

so if you are all in the mood to write, how about letter complaining of CAs new anti homeschool law?

Very recently there were so many voters upset about a certain bill that the calls shut down the system. Your voice does matter. Every time I go through congress.org, I receive a letter from the congressmen and women. If you do nothing, you can't blame the government. WE are the people and they are there because WE voted them in. You have to become an active participant to order for them to hear you.
