Default previeously removed derogatory accouts

if an account is removed from your credit report, can it reappear after a year or more has past?

Hmmm...interesting question, kenstradamas? Does anyone mind shedding some light on this subject?

Someone in my family is having this problem. She disputed an account on her credit report. As a result, the account was removed (approx. 7 months ago). However, the company is still hassling her to pay them.

Can the dispute go back on her credit report after being removed over 6 months ago?

Please advise.
