Default Electric Orange

Does anyone have an electric orange account from ING? Do you like it?

I currently have Netbank and I'm thinking of completely switching. I think Netbank is hurting financially and I don't like a couple of things they've done recently.

I don't have a comment about the Electric Orange account specifically but I wanted to suggest that you check out Everbank and/or UnivestDirect. You may also want to look into the checking accounts offered through Schwab and E*TRADE just to evaluate different alternatives.

The OP stated that Netbank was HURTING FINANCIALLY. This is true. They have always had customer service issues IMO but lately, they have really been struggling, period.

Article: Breaking The NetBank

Excerpts: "In February, NetBank reported its preliminary unaudited 2006 results. The after-tax loss was a stunning $202 million..."

"...is delinquent on its SEC filings..."

"...will also close its NetBank mortgage-origination business, a move likely to translate into a loss of $25 million to $28 million."

I've always thought that they were one of the best online banks until Last December. I had an ultra cheap car loan with them. Below market rate. However, one day it just disappeared from my online account. I emailed them and they said that they sold that division of the company. So, my auto loan is with another company. I have no idea who. I have never received a notice. I have never received an invoice. I have never received anything! They still take the money out my account every month.

So, this is what clued me into their problems. I don't want to be in a sinking ship. Netbank is sinking fast.

EDIT: Actually, I just read an article that Everbank is buying out the accounts of Netbank.

I have electric orange, never had any problems, the only trouble is if you want an auto pay set up with a company that only takes checks..you could have EO mail you one to use, but that is a PIA...
