Cool Transunion Personal Identifiers - Argh!

I've been thinking about getting my credit reports and score again for a couple months. I usually do it once a year or so - and it has now been over 16 months since the last time. I had gotten my free reports about 10 months ago from Experian and the other not Transunion one. Why not Transunion? Because they couldn't verify who I was.

So tonight I finally decided that I was going to go ahead and do it. I was on my credit card's website and they had a direct link to the Transunion site for a 3 in one + score. I should have been fair warned by the fact that it was a Transunion site.

So I get through the first steps with no problem. Then comes time for the verification process. Ok - year of birth. No problem. Ok - Places I've lived - no problem. Hmm. .. they need more info. Places of employment -- what? Only one place listed - unknown - 1970!!! Ummm ... I wasn't even alive in 1970.
Ok, let's try Credit Card numbers - ok - my Visa # -- nope, they don't accept that. Hmm... my Mastercard number. Nope, not that either. Ok - go to the questions about loan accounts - Car loan # -- nope, don't accept that. Hmm... stupid loan - nope don't accept that. OK .... another stupid loan ... nope - you're locked out!

Transunion is the one I've had the most problems with in the past getting my report from - and I think they're the one with a credit card listed for me that started in 1980 with a $12K credit limit (Did they issue credit cards to Kindergartners?)

So in the morning as soon as their customer service opens I'm going to call and see if I can't get them to agree that I am who I am!

Anyone else have these kind of problems with Transunion or the other CRA's?

Yep. The only credit reporting agency that I have had big issues with is Transunion!

I finally managed to get them to accept that I was who I said I was over the phone. So I was able to see my reports and my score (just the Transunion one though - not all 3.)
