lol... Princess, thats the way i am. the fewer the categories the better. I clump my budget into necessary (to live) vs unecessary (can live without) and prioritize what gets paid 1st, 2nd, 3rd.. etc. Monthly bills (savings, cars, utilities, insurance, mortgage, gas and grocery-food-to-cook) take priority and the leftovers go to one big category for "wants" (dining out, fun money, entertainment, new clothes, trips) - some months we want to spend more money on one thing than the other (sudden trip to the beach in february, new pair of shoes in march, candy binges and starbucks in may, spiderman 3 & shrek 3 in june etc). We just spend however we feel like spending the leftovers and once its gone its gone. I tried once to budget for the little wants in life and it turned out bad as we found it way too constricting.

I do see how some people can need it though... i know some people who could definately benefit from a total category makeover!
