Default HSBC Interest Rate

I just signed up for a account with HSBC. I was wondering when signed into their account is there anyway to see the current interest rate I am receiving? I just switched for ING so still getting used to the new layout.

It's on their homepage where you logon. Currently you get 6% on new money until April 30th, then it defaults to their normal current rate of 5.05%. That's .55% better than you were doing at ING.

Their APY is 6% but I think the APR is mor like 5.84 or 5.93. It's a good rate until then though and they do have some physical buildings in some cities with ATM's, so you can add or withdraw from them.

I knew that I could see it on the front page, but was wondering if there was anyplace once singed in where I could see it. No big deal really, Also does HSBC have a daily interest calculated similar to what ING has?

No, they don't. I like the fact that you can see the daily interest - that's a neat thing. I don't particularly care for their customer service reps. They are not that friendly and are very much snippy and tend to cut you off. Personally, I like Ing. It's good to try our different banks. You'll always come back to the tried and true.

I had to call HSBC when setting up my account and they were very helpful and nice ... the interest counter is nice but not worth losing the extra interest. The only way I would go back to ING is if their rates went above HSBC by enough to make the switch worth it.

Other than their snail paced bank to bank transfer time, I have had good luck with HSBC. I kept my account open for a year hoping for a promo. I had only $5.00 in my on line savings but moved 10K in on the first of February. They paid 5.83% (6%APY) for last month as promised.
Does anyone have a free checking account with them? I am considering opening one so I have quick access to the monthly interest in the future. I'd appreciate your opinion of their check account accuracy and service. Have you had any problems with your checking account?
