I have 4. I use two regularly. One I use a couple times a year. The other I will not be renewing when it expires. I pay them off every month.

DH has too many. He has 6. But, thankfully doesn't use them anymore. He had a very hard time getting credit. So, a couple of the cards have HORRIBLE terms. We will not be renewing them when they expire. He only uses 3 of the cards. One has a very small balance which should be paid off at the end of this month. Another one has a balance on it at 0% interest and we are working on paying it off. The other one is used for gas and is paid off monthly.

one personal visa. Balance ZERO
One jcpenny card only to get an extra 15% off, I ALWAYS turn right around and make the payment at the same register right after my buy. That way It will not get hit with the 21% interest that pennys seem to charge.

2 (only use one of them) and 4 store cards (haven't used those in at least 5 years).

So only one that I use. IMO there's no point in having/using more than one card, nothing good can come from it.

3 Credit Cards

One with a low limit for use on the internet. (In this way I limit my liability if the details are stolen on the internet)

Main Card for business and travel so I have all my claims in one place.

Linked credit card on a cheque account in case we have a bad month. This card means that I never have to worrying when I pay a bill.

I have three credit cards: one I haven't used in three years, one I stopped using yesterday thanks to a credit card terms of use amendment that reflected how desperate the credit card issuer is, and my credit union-issued credit card. The first two are issued by the same bank: the issuer of the first card was bought out by the issuer of the second.

I'm thinking of applying for a business credit card at a credit union: that seems to be my best option for getting a credit card issuer that won't be swallowed by a large central bank.

One CC, and I use it as often as possible. I don't write checks, and I only pay cash if the amount owed is less than $10.

We pay if off each month.

The rewards systems available are just too good to pass up. We've probably gotten $300 or $400 in rewards checks in the last year. We used a GM card for years...when we bought a Pontiac Vibe in 2002 (built by Toyota), we were credited $3500 off the price (after negotiation).

If you never carry a balance, CCs are a beautiful thing.

I get several credit card offers each month, but I only accept those that come with no annual fee and pay me at least one percent cash back or credit on my purchases. I don't care about the interest rate. It could be some exorbitant rate like 50% for all I care, since I never carry a balance and always pay off what I owe at the end of each month. Right now, I probably have about 15 different cards, but I only regularly use three of them.

I think I have 7 cards in all. Some of them have better rewards so I use them most often, but one of them has a calling card which I find useful in an emergency, but I am trying to reduce the number of cards I have. I owe nothing on any of them so I can cancel them at any time, but some programs no longer exisit so I have cancel the card I lose the bonus... Am looking for a better system now, feel a little irritated about the way some CC companies trick you with their mileage programs..

I have one credit card, a visa. I've had the card for one month.

I charge gas and groceries to it only.

I am up to 11. I know it sounds NUTS but

3 were late hubby w/ authorized user (me) converted to me w/ 25+ years of history-use 2 regularly- 1 for all on-line charges/purchases; one for all foreign transactions (no fees); 1 regular use 1-5% cashback.
1 late hubby w/ me as AU and cc refused to convert (25+yr history)

5 obtained last Dec because:
probs converting late hubby cards
wanted MC w/ cashback to local grocer
had gotten new car where HAD to use dealer financing at 10.99%; transeferred to 3 cards w/ 0% for at least 12 months
2 newest are to move the 10 month old 0% balances for 12-18 months

My original 8k in BT is down to under 5.8K in 10 months. My money to pay off is and was in <1 yr CDs & MMAs. I could easily pay ALL off in the next 15 minutes but why when I am earning >5%?

I have five cards (two MCs/one discover and two store cards), plus one card issued by my company for business-use only. I only use one card regularly.
