Interesting, but I agree that it's definitely not going to be truly accurate for those with large expected income increases up the road. We came out ahead of what it said, but we've had some large infusions of cash along the way to bolster our net worth. If we hadn't had those big bumps, based on this formula I'm not sure we'd be considered "on track". And the way that we save (we'll save 42% of our gross this year)....if we're considered in trouble, there isn't much hope for anyone else.
